Washington's clean tech and energy sector is growing fast — but students often don't know it exists. Industry surveys consistently find that young people underestimate the breadth, variety, and impact of STEM careers, and that awareness gaps are directly contributing to pipeline shortfalls in high-demand fields. STEM360 is a direct response to that problem.
Designed by Kinetic West and a coalition of Washington's leading industry associations, STEM360 is a full-day, school-wide career exploration event that brings employers directly into the learning environment — not as a one-off speaker, but as an integrated part of the school day. The goal: give every student a meaningful, memorable introduction to the modern world of STEM work.
Class Takeover — 9th & 10th grade
Employer volunteers co-lead lessons in core academic subjects — math, science, English, social studies — weaving real industry context into the existing curriculum. Students encounter STEM and non-STEM roles alike, and teachers walk away with new connections to industry they can carry forward.
Career Tradeshow — 11th & 12th grade
Interactive booths, live demos, internship and job opportunities, and postsecondary planning resources — a full day for students who are actively making decisions about what comes after graduation.
Employers send one or more employee volunteers for the day. Our team — along with consulting partner Kinetic West — provides full preparation support, including training materials, curriculum alignment, and hands-on coaching to ensure your people show up confident and students walk away engaged. We've designed this to be a meaningful experience without being a heavy lift.
CleanTech Alliance is serving as lead organization, co-convening with the Technology Alliance, Life Science Washington, and Aerospace Futures Alliance. This pilot is the foundation for a replicable model designed to scale statewide. Employers who participate in year one help shape what STEM360 becomes.
Sponsorships fund the infrastructure that makes this pilot possible: event logistics, classroom lesson development, materials, exhibitor support, and student survey administration. We appreciate our founding funder: Washington ESD, and our first employer sponsor: The Port of Seattle! All sponsors receive name recognition in event materials and on partner websites and social channels.
Presenting Sponsor — $50,000+ — "Presented by" naming on all event materials, seat on planning committee, logo in press and media coverage
Executive Sponsor — $25,000 — Logo in press and media coverage, post-event survey report
Sector Partner — $10,000 — Logo on all marketing materials, post-event survey report
Supporting Sponsor — $2,500 — Logo on all marketing materials
Community Sponsor — $1,000 — Name recognition in event materials
We are actively confirming employer commitments now — the earlier you raise your hand, the more we can match your team to the right program element.
